Dams, Reservoirs, Embankments, Containment

Earth dams, reservoirs, and earth embankments are subject to seepage through the walls of the dam.

Seepage

Earth dams, reservoirs, and earth embankments are subject to seepage through the walls of the dam, resulting in sloughing of the slope and erosion of the surface.

Seepage in an embankment can also soften the fill and saturate the surrounding areas.

Waterbelt is installed in the embankment to control seepage, erosion, and sand boils or piping.

Vertical Installation

Waterbelt can be installed vertically to form a cutoff trench to control seepage or function as a trench drain.

A vertical configuration also works well as a containment drain for landfill site drainage, hazardous site drainage, or commercial site drainage.

Discharge after completion

Discharge after one year

Waterbelt drain belt collects and drains groundwater from rainfall, high water table and seepage without clogging. It separates the soil particles from the water before collection so drain rock and geotextile filters are not required.
